Fuel Delivery & Propane Service in Matador, TX
Matador is the county seat of Motley County, sitting right on US Highway 62/70 about 95 miles east of Lubbock. It’s ranch and farm country — the kind of place where diesel keeps the equipment running and propane keeps the house warm through a January norther. Silverton Oil Company — a family-owned business founded in 1972 — delivers both across this part of West Texas, and Matador and Motley County are part of our service area.
We deliver directly to your operation — farm, ranch, home, or business. Call (806) 823-2451 to get on the schedule.
Fuel Delivery to Matador and Motley County
Whether you’re running cattle, working row crops, or managing heavy equipment, you need fuel on-site and on time. We deliver:
- Dyed diesel — off-road use on farms and ranches, tax-exempt
- Clear diesel — for on-road trucks and commercial vehicles
- Gasoline — for pickups, ATVs, and light equipment
Bulk delivery to your on-site tank means fewer trips to town and less downtime. We serve farms, ranches, and businesses in and around Matador and throughout Motley County — north toward Roaring Springs, south toward Whiteflat, and everywhere in between.
Propane & LPG Delivery in Matador
Propane heats homes, powers grain dryers, and fuels irrigation equipment across Motley County. We handle all of it:
- Propane delivery to residential and agricultural tanks
- Cylinder exchange and refill for smaller appliances and equipment
- Propane appliance installation — heaters, water heaters, ranges, and more
- Service and repair on existing propane systems
- New system installation for homes, shops, and farm buildings
When a norther rolls in off the Caprock and temperatures drop overnight, you want a propane supplier who’s been around long enough to have earned the trust of your neighbors.
Lubricants, Bulk DEF & Antifreeze
Modern diesel equipment demands the right fluids to stay in the field. We supply:
- Bulk and packaged lubricants — engine oils, gear oils, hydraulic fluid, and grease
- Bulk DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) — for Tier 4 diesel engines and emissions systems
- Antifreeze and coolant — for equipment running in wide West Texas temperature swings
We can bundle lubricants and DEF with your fuel order to keep deliveries simple.
About Matador and Motley County
Matador was established in 1891 when Motley County was organized. The town takes its name from the Matador Ranch — one of the most storied cattle operations in Texas history, started in 1878 by Henry H. Campbell. At its height the ranch controlled a massive stretch of the Rolling Plains before being broken up in 1951.
That ranching heritage is still woven into this county. Motley County generates roughly $14 million in average annual agricultural income. Beef cattle and horses account for about half; cotton, peanuts, wheat, and other grains make up the rest. Oil was discovered here in 1957 and has added another dimension to the local economy.
Motley County also draws hunters from across Texas. Quail, white-tailed deer, dove, aoudad sheep, and pheasant are all found in the area, and the Matador Wildlife Management Area is a well-known destination. Every April, Matador hosts its annual stock show — a West Texas tradition that’s been going strong for generations.
