Gas Station, Propane & Fuel Delivery in Silverton, TX

Silverton Oil Company started in Silverton in 1972 and never left. This is our home, the county seat of Briscoe County and the place our family has served for more than five decades.

Silverton, TX Fuel, Propane & Gas Station — Our Home Since 1972

When you stop at 1253 County Road 13 on Highway 86 East, you are not visiting a branch location or a franchise outpost. You are at the original Silverton Oil Company station, the same address where this family business has operated since 1972. Every other location we run across the Texas Panhandle exists because of what was built here first.

Silverton is the county seat of Briscoe County and sits on State Highway 86 in the heart of the Texas High Plains. It is a small town by most measures (the 2020 census counted 629 residents inside the city limits), but Briscoe County itself stretches across hundreds of square miles of farm and ranch country, and the people who live and work that land have needed a reliable fuel and propane supplier for a long time. Silverton Oil has been that supplier here longer than anyone else.

What We Carry at the Silverton Station

The Silverton station is our most complete location. You can get everything we offer under one roof:

  • Clear diesel for on-road equipment and vehicles
  • Dyed (off-road) diesel for farm equipment, irrigation, and other agricultural use
  • Gasoline for everyday fill-ups
  • Propane (LPG) for home heating, agricultural use, and cooking
  • Lubricants including motor oil, hydraulic fluid, and related products
  • BBQ supplies

If you run a farm operation and need to keep tractors fueled, heat your home with propane out on a county road, or just need to fill up on your way through town, this is the stop. We also handle bulk fuel and propane delivery for homes, businesses, and agricultural operations throughout the region. Call (806) 823-2451 to set up delivery or ask about availability.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to noon. Closed Sunday.

Silverton and Briscoe County

Briscoe County sits along the eastern edge of the Texas High Plains, where the Caprock Escarpment drops away from the Llano Estacado toward the rolling terrain below. Tule Canyon cuts through the county, a reminder that this part of the Panhandle is not all flat, even if the wheat and cotton fields up on top make it look that way from the highway.

The county economy runs on agriculture. Cotton, wheat, and grain sorghum are the main crops. Cattle ranching fills in the rougher ground. Most of the working equipment out here burns diesel, and most of the farmsteads need propane for heating, cooking, and livestock operations. That has been Silverton Oil’s bread and butter for fifty-plus years.

Silverton has served as the county seat since 1892. It grew up as a trade center for the surrounding farming and ranching community, and it still serves that role. The Silverton Independent School District’s Owls are a point of local pride. Briscoe County’s total population is around 1,435 (2020 census), with most of that scattered across rural land well outside the city limits. In a county this size, the town is the hub, and the hub has to be dependable.

Why Silverton Trusts Silverton Oil

Short answer: we have been here since 1972. A lot of people in Briscoe County have bought fuel or propane from us, or their parents did. We are not a chain that opened a branch here. We are a Silverton company, and this town is where the whole operation began.

Silverton Oil is family-owned and faith-driven. Those values shape how we work: showing up when we said we would, dealing honestly, and treating customers the way you would want to be treated in a small community where everyone knows everyone. That approach did not change when we opened other stations. It was the point from the beginning.

If you need propane, diesel, gasoline, lubricants, or BBQ supplies in Silverton or anywhere in Briscoe County, you know where to find us. Same address since before most of our customers were born.
